Believe it or not, this seemingly well adjusted normal individual, does actually enjoy facing countless groups of excited children (and stressed parents) day in and day out, with nothing more than a collection of magic wands, magic tricks, puppets, balloons and a ready wit, and a great deal of patience!!!!!

If you have never booked a children’s entertainer before (indeed even if you have) you may find it a somewhat daunting experience. You can spend hours looking through various phones books, web sites and directories, and contacting various entertainers, there are a multitude of entertainers and a varied collection of performing styles and talents. Which one is right for you?

Most parents have no real idea of what they are looking for or what kind of performer will be best for their party. I will do my very best to give you a clear idea of what I do and what the show includes. With that in mind I will also do my best to tailor the show to your own specific requirements.

In my career as a Children and family entertainer I have entertained in a wide variety of venue’s, from village halls, front rooms, back gardens and even shopping centre’s. I have entertained children from a wide variety of age groups

Whichever entertainer you choose, it is important to listen to their advice about the best type of entertainment for your party One of the major mistakes is to have a fixed idea of what you want and, despite all advice to the contrary, to stick with that idea until you find someone who will take on the job. This invariably leads to disappointment on the big day when you realise that the show is not being received as well as you would like.

Children and family entertainers are experienced professionals. It is wise to listen to their advice and to draw on their experience.

I am aware of course, that price is a major consideration for many people, but try not to let this cloud your judgement. In any given area most entertainers will charge a similar rate. Rest assured that we are all aware of the average price being charged by our colleagues and the chances are that any price differences will not be more than a few pounds. In this situation it is simply not worth basing your choice purely on price.

There are of course always exceptions to this rule.

If at all possible try to be flexible with the party date and times. It is worthwhile if you wish to secure the services of a particular entertainer. With this in mind try to contact your entertainer well in advance. This is especially important in December when booking Christmas parties, October for Hallowe’en, May for First Communions, June for nursery and primary schoos end of year celebrations, and of course July for festivals, fete’s and fun days.

Many entertainers also require a deposit to be paid in advance to confirm your booking. This can be discussed at the time of booking.

Make sure that your entertainer is a full time professional entertainer. You do want an experienced performer for your special event to make sure your party is an outstanding success.
